11 DVD (2008)
Review by Steven Stanley |

I can't really put into words what a complete and
utter disappointment this is. It apparently features Bryan and the
band rehearsing for the '11 Tour' back in February 2008... just
before Bryan went around Europe doing a SOLO ACOUSTIC TOUR. Also
when the band did get back together on the road... they played little
if any of these songs. So already for the well educated fan you
have a confusing premise into what this DVD is really about.
Also if it's completely live then why in February
2008 are the band playing the remix version of 'She's Got A Way'
that wasn't even conceived til summer later that year?... because
the original version has been dubbed over with the remix. As for
the rest of the songs, Bryan is singing over the CD... literally.
In a room full of fantastically talented individuals, for some bizarre
reason they are miming to the CD. It's been cleverly remixed slightly
to give that raw live feel. I'm not going to go over the many instances
where this is blatantly apparent, for that, go to Karl's
excellent breakdown of the disc.
Between songs you see Bryan and the band talking
which is nice to see, albeit brief. The menus have been constructed
in 10 minutes and there are no extras.
Obviously this DVD was released some time after
the release of the '11' album and resulting solo acoustic shows,
a far better use of this DVD would have been to record an acoustic
show because they were excellent. I'd like to see that happen in
the future one day.
