Live At Budokan (2003)
Review by Steven Stanley |

Basically Slane castle with no atmosphere. The crowd
are really subdued and don't get going at all. I've always wondered
why they released 2 DVD's from the same tour... if it was the 18
Tour I wouldn't be complaining but this offers nothing new. At this
point Bryan had stopped playing the full version of 'How Do Ya Feel
Tonight' in favour of a very abbreviated version. It's a shame because
it misses the whole buildup the full live version had where Bryan
asked "is there anybody out there?" before coming onstage
which sent the crowd wild.
Setlist wise this is slightly better maybe than
Slane with the inclusion of tracks like 'Remember' and 'Getaway'
but this is lost with the poor audience. Like with Slane, 4 tracks
from the same show are put out on the extras. WHY? Also, like Lisbon
this gig was filmed over 2 nights... the first night in the encores
BA did a cover of Deep Purple's 'Woman From Tokyo'... it's not on
here.
It's a good performance by Bryan but ultimately
the show is too similar to the Slane gig which was far superior
in comparison.
Key Tracks:
Remember
I Don't Wanna Live Forever
