Riding the crest of a wave after 'Run To You' and 'Reckless' had just taken off across both sides of the atlantic, BA released 'Somebody' in March of '85 in the US where it peaked at a respectable #11. It's UK release was later in the year, however it wasn't as successful as it's predecessor 'Run To You', reaching only #35.

As with most 'Reckless' releases the US/UK dates for each single varied by a few months. As this was hitting the states, the UK was just getting 'Run To You'... which was probably done so BA could concentrate on doing maximum promo in one country at a time. A wide variety of formats was released especially in the UK, as Bryan looked forward to a 3 night 3 sellout headline run at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
