25/07/96 - CARDIFF INTERNATIONAL ARENA

This was penultimate show of the summer tour... 2 days after the McAlpine Stadium show in Huddersfield... and 2 days before the monster show at Wembley Stadium. Bryan invites Melissa Etheridge onstage for 'It's Only Love' (see picture below) for the first time during the tour. It's a practice for the Wembley show 2 days later no doubt, but it sounds great and goes down without a hitch. Obviously Bryan was playing stadiums all tour, so to come to Cardiff and play a small 7000 capacity Arena might have seemed like a strange choice at the time. This was because the old Cardiff Arms Park had been knocked down and the new up and coming (at the time) Millenium Stadium was still being built. No other venues were used for shows in Cardiff at that time so this was the only option. He could have sold out this little arena for a week full of shows at the time, but kept it down to the single show. He would of course return to the same venue less than a year later. Bryan was so popular he could play whatever the hell he wanted... and with this show (like many others at the time) he dropped 'Heaven'

BA on his Gretsch

Bryan gets chilly in the vest so he puts on an '18 Til I Die' t-shirt from the merchandise stands and turns it inside out! No shame!
