09/10/99 - NETAID, WEMBLEY STADIUM,
LONDON
Summary by Steven
Stanley:
In the middle of the fall UK tour of '99, the day after his last
Wembley Arena gig of the week Bryan played Wembley Stadium for the
very last time. This time though he returned to the venue to support
'Netaid'. 3 concerts were staged simultaneously at Wembley Stadium
in London, Giants Stadium in New York, and the United Nations' Palais
de Nations in Geneva. The world's biggest and best artists were
taking part and the concert was screened around the world and also
live on the internet. Bryan came straight onto the stage with no
introduction and blasted out a very rocking raw sounding 'Summer
Of '69' which sent Wembley wild. A solo peroformance of 'When You're
Gone' was next, followed by Cloud #9 with 72,000 peoples arms in
the air. One final song at the Stadium after that which I'm sure
Bryan will never forget...a typically amazing audience interactive
version of 'The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You'. Overall
in 4 days at the Wembley complex that week (including his sellout
Arena dates) BA played to 120,000 plus people.
Below: Wembley Stadium is rocked to it's foundations
