IN THE DESERT, THE PALMS, LAS VEGAS, NV Review

Originally I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make
this gig , due to work and other obligations and priorities but it all worked
out and so planning commenced. I decided I would travel alone and just meet my
friends there, some old and some new.I arrived in vegas at 9 am saturday morning
and upon exiting the airport to get a cab outside it was then I realized how bloody
hot it was UGGGGG I expected it to be warm but for some reason it just really
got to me.. I get to hotel that I cannot check into yet cos checkin is later so
they hold my luggage and off for a walk I go.I imediatly headed to the strip and
spotted an indoor food court with a STARBUCKS YESSSSSSSSS COFFEE , was much needed
after I had been up for eons it seemed, couldn't sleep had a bit of pre gig jitters
or fear of missing flight , anyway I get a coffee, make some calls let everyone
know that I am meeting that I have arrived. I continue with my walk and decided
to head back to hotel to just see if by chance room was ready yet and as luck
would have it they JUST finished and I was able to check in early .. whewwwwwwww
i needed to change cos sweats just do NOT work in vegas in 90 degree weather..
so I change grab camera put hair up and off I go again back to the strip feeling
much better . I decided to walk from one end to the other and back.. the strip
is 2 miles lol so that would be a 4 mile hike and altho I put some sun screen
on apparently it wasnt enuff cos i got a lil red .. ok so I was BURNT ... by the
time I had walked and took photos and shopped a bit, watched the water show at
the bellagio and then got back to my hotel It was nap time ... I was shattered
so I decided to lie down a bit and then I woke up rang nancy who was already in
and decided to take a cab to the palms and meet up with her.. while we waited
for Nic H and Sreamz.. they finally arrive but are too knackered to celebrate
Nic's 24th Bday . Nancy and I had walked the hotel and she played some machines
we had dinner and just hung out and I went back to my hotel to ensure plenty of
sleep for gig day!
I awake I think too early but couldn't sleep anymore , not
excited about gig but excited to get to hotel to see scream and nic .. so I got
ready and headed over that way.. upon arriving at the hotel where the gig was
at we saw there was already one person in que.. i decided well perhaps we should
join the que cos if one is there more will follow .. our original intentions were
to walk around maybe gamble have lunch maybe pool etc but didn't want to chance
being any further in the que so we decided right then and there to grab our spot
in que. scream and nic finally get there . was SOOOOo cool to meet lil miss nic
in person after all these years.. bless her she only tiny hehehso pressies were
handed out to my mates and smiles were well received.(nic's bday pressies)we decided
to take turns in que doing whatever we wanted and just natter away most of the
day.. then 3 other baddies decided to join us 2 of wich were also from UK .. I
felt like it was the brittish invasion with 3 UKers in que with us LOLOL ( just
teasing) was so great to see everyone that I havent seen in ages and some new
ppl :)) then 3 more baddies from NY Alicja her sis Therese and their friend Margret
who btw is addicted to the slots LOL did she ever win??? i dunno she had a blast
tho.. then loads n loads started arriving late morning mid aftrnoon.. security
told us there as no need for a que so early and we are wasting our time etc etc
and that if we decided to stay hed have to rope the que off.. ok like THAT was
gonna bother us?? TSK how lil they know.. we though they were just going to be
total jerks with us but turned out in the end THEY ROCKED I have NEVER seen security
this easy I don't think.. they were just brilliant...b4 the gig we chatted with
one who was so cool, he is a hip hop fan and from NY originally but he knows some
ba songs and he likes some of em.. he asked us loads of questions seemed curious
.. and he was just like a fan at his first ba gig he never gave us stick about
standing at the stage . that at one point some other dude dont know if he is security
or not but said to us the stage was 10 feet high LMAO and our best spot would
be in the middle where there was a raised bit sorta like a stage that was about
4 stairs higher then us , which they claimed was 5 feet from the stage.. um more
like 20 feet and sure eye level but the stage was only 5 feet IF that high so
we said nah we wil stay here and were quite happy with those spots, the one security
guy hung out with us and was so cool and the others just were so awesome helping
fans get drinks etc.. I think all security should be like this LOL there wasnt
one fight .. just everyone having a blast. the guys come out and the crowd went
NUTS from start to finish...I really don't ever remember set lists but I will
point out some highlights of the show. I think it was One Night Love Affair they
started with , which kicked it off good and the set list was way different then
he normally does, we had made some banners but we werent sure at what times what
songs would be best so just when time was right we did specific banners for each
of the guys, so I decided to start with Norm :) who better to get going first?during
BACK TO YOU Banner said "NORMY? IS YOUR G-STRING TOO TIGHT??" he saw
it read it and laughed so hard he couldn't sing, he lost any control he had at
the moment and just giggled as he tried to sing.. said to me "don't do that
again" not in a bad way mind u .. so the sex face stopped for a while it
was so funny we so took the piss out of him and he had a good laugh. further on
I had a banner for Keith , "wanna grab my Gretsch" he laughed at me
like WTF are u on? so I showed him my TAT and he said from the stage "Is
that real" YES and he just said WOW and that was that :) he liked it ...
showed mickey his web addy got a thumbs up.. and then was on to Bryan LOLOL..
we had one big banner that said BRYAN MARRY ME and I handed out about 10 or so
other smaller ones that said AND ME so we all held up the signs at one time so
it looked like we all proposed to BA and he stood there for a min laughing and
said as he pointed randomly no i wont marry you or you or you or you .. awwwwwwww
well maybe another time ?? a girl HAS to try right? But it was vegas soooo ya
know what happens in vegas stays in vegas *WEG*

JOKE about marrying Bryan.. none of us that played this joke are that shallow
contrary to anyones beliefs... Anyway we asked gary of we could tickle his ivory's
later on and he just smiled , surely he never heard THAT line b4 right? LOL now
with banners done and out of the way we can take some pics and rock out with the
guys who were in AWESOME moods, and RAWKIN .... they were just brilliant..having
so much fun.. was so good to see them again...bryan did sing Lonely Nights wich
i personally have never seen him do live b4 so I was very pleased to hear/see
it. 
Then
ppl were shouting out requests.. bryan sang one and I do not remember what it
was .Think it was Heat of the Night.. then after that ppl shouted out more and
bryan stood there said well fine it seems to be request night let's have it give
me what ya got ppl shouting left and right and Keith decided he had a request,
keith started playing and I thought at first he was gonna do LAYLA and I looked
at sarah she looked at me and we just stood there jaw dropped but then it turned
out to be "miss you" by the stones.. was ACE but Bryan forgot the words
LOL so was kinda funny it was like a jam session then with them 2 on guitar was
so cool.. then they did "Get Down Tonight" at wich time mickey Put on
a BIG ASS BLACK CURLY AFRO WIG.. and all ya could see was hari flying about as
he pounded the drums LOL was Disco night for them it seemed.. was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Funny.. Bryan was shaking his groove thang like I aint never seen before LOL he
was dancing all over .. they just had so much fun on stage was brilliant. Of course
a amazing It's Only Love was played with a massively wicked solo by Keith or is
that Ken? or Kevin? or what the hell was his name ? LOLOL Oh yer it was Keith.
EID is always done wonderfully with crowd singing along, summer of 69 crowd went
mad the only thing and the YOU YOU YOU bit went on for wich seemed an eternity
was so coolthe NA NA NA's of CLAK were brilliant and naturally bryan got them
to get the loudest I ever heard lol was so cool.... encores were brilliant.. one
with the band and one with only Bryan singing Staright from the Heart.
b4 we
knew it the night was ended the guys had gone off and wouldnt return.. what a
night.. couldnt believe it was over so soon. we went to get something to eat and
have a sit down and relax after such a long day and after we had finished we saw
some crew leaving with luggage then we saw gary go by then keith with his stuff
leaving and he stopped for less then 5 mins, just long enuff to say hi see the
tat again say he lied it ask if nancy was ok and sayin hi to nic and off he went
they seemed to be in a hurry off to LA.. so we just went to the bar and had a
few beers and called it a done deal.. nic was too tired she went to bed and nancy
went to her room sarah and I chatted a while and that was that.. I had to get
to airport to catch my flght home and said all my goodbyes to everyone.. to
all my bad friends THANK YOU as ALWAYS it is a pleasure to gig with ya and see
ya cos I missed ya TONS ...to the Brits I met U NUTTERS!!! was so cool to meet
ya's and see those of you again.. Had a blast shame didnt last longer...WE RAWKED!!!
