03/12/04 - SCHLEYERHALLE, STUTTGART

Review by Chrissie:
Now here I am back from Bryan's gig at Stuttgart last night. No, I'm not really back yet, I'm still on cloud # 9!

It was so phantastic, great, gigantic, genial, galactic... a new word has to be invented to describe it! Bryan started the show with Room Service and Open Road. I love both songs but I have to say that for my opinion Open Road is the better live song! But RS is also very very good! Bryan and the guys where so cool and Bryan told stories and joked with the crowd. He told us about the secret of writing new songs: often he is asked how he gets the inspiration for new songs. He has to say that it don't happen in the morning. And it don't happen at night. But it happens after dinner. If you give him a good meal, he writes a good song. Or: he sings for gettin s.th. to eat... And now there is a lot of place in his stomac...! At that moment there came a cynical laughter from the background of the stage, it was one of the guys. Bryan looked incredulous, took the harmonica out of his pocket and played just one sound on it and continued with the show, singing EIDIDFY.

About So69 he said, that it's not meant a special year, it could be any year!
For to sing WHEN YOU'RE GONE he cose a girl named Sarah. She did a quite good job and it was very funny. He asked her if she works and she said no and she goes to school. He asked why not, if she doesn't want to? He asked if she knows the text of the song and she said no. He asked if she can sing and she said "a little bit" and he said "like me"... She was very nervous, but he was very nice and friendly to her.

The show was finished by Bryan without the band, only he and his guitar! He sang FLYING, ALL FOR LOVE; STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART and ROOM SERVICE unplugged, that was totaly great!

Sometimes it was very very quiet, I guess the crowd was so fascinated from Bryan's incredible voice that they forgot for a moment any reaction, but than they raged!
It was the best gig I've ever been to!

He himself said that FLYING sounds like a german "schlager". That's it exactly and that's why I don't like it. I love his voice and I love to hear him singing everything - even "bah bah black sheep - but the song itself I don't like very much.

The band did also a great job, of course Keith was the
star playing his guitar! Bryan and Keith are a little bit like an old couple: they understand each other without a lot of words.
At the end of the show Bryan introduced the band. That was the moment when Mickey had his great scene: first he went up and down in front of the stage like a king. Then he bowed deeply to the people, fell down on his knees and openend his arms - great gestures, very funny!

Bryan and Keith weared dark jeans and blck shirts. Bryan has his hair a little bit longer, that's better than too short. They all looked great and they were very relaxed and had a lot of fun with the show, so did we!
