17/10/05 - MOHEGAN SUN ARENA, UNCASVILLE, CT

Review by Marilyn:
The trip to the gig was a little crazy for everyone. I got a really late start and then got stuck in traffic, Alicja, Teresa and Margaret had car trouble and Diane was the only one who made it there early - but she was there all by herself! When I finally got there, after driving around the parking lot for about 40 minutes trying to figure out how to get to same parking lot as Diane (this place is huge!), we grabbed something quick to eat and finally made it into the arena a little after the opener started. Security at the entrance was very strick and made me throw out all my posters. We all had seats in the 10th row, but could see the second row on Keith's side was empty so as soon as the opener (sorry I didn't get his name - he was pretty good tho) got off, we all moved up to the second row, hoping no one would come and claim the row. Soon as the guys came out, we all ran up and got first row by the barrier. The guys, as usual, was just great. Alot of energy, alot of laughing and alot of fooling around with each other. The sound system was pretty terrible with alot of static and I think Bryan and Keith were pretty frustrated by that. A couple of the mics didn't work and at one point Bryan had to change guitars mid song because something was wrong. But they were great regardless. I have never seen Keith do the things he did tonight. He was absolutely going nuts!! Biting his guitar, throwing it way up in the air, playing it over his head, rubbing it against the mic and speakers, you name it, he did it. Absolutely amazing! I don't know how he could ever top what he did tonight.

Bryan put security in their place and then told everyone up in the higher seats to come on down to get the party started. Diane and I ended up with two guys behind us waving a beer bottle around. I wasn't sure if it was going to get dumped on us or hit us in the head, but eventually security calmed them down. But the crowd was great and it was obvious the guys were having fun up there. Bryan didn't even mention the Anthology coming out tomorrow, which kind of surprised me and he didn't play Hard to Love, which also surprised and disappointed me. But, they did play Hearts on Fire, which was so incredible to hear! No encore, no Straight from the Heart, which was disappointing, but the rest of the show was so awesome. After now seeing 5 shows as a co-headliner, I have to admit I can't wait for Bryan and the guys to play solo again. The show is just so much shorter and I really do miss the whole thing. Hint, hint - Bryan if you read this -- Please try to get in at least a few show by yourself.
I tried my hardest to get picked for WYG, jumping around like a nut, but no luck - lol! A young cute blonde got up there, but she was pretty good. Well even tho I know I'll never make it, I'll keep trying!
Anyway, it was a great night and a great show. Thanks Bryan, again, for giving your best and to all the other guys, esp. Keith, for making the night no memorable.
Thanks to Diane, Alicja, Teresa, Margaret and Karen for sharing yet another great night. Hope to see you all again real soon!

Review by Teresa:
Keith was amazing and it's gonna be hard topping his performance last night. Maybe it was the full moon last night or I don't know what it was, but he sure was full of surprises last night and definitely at his very best!
Loved it when he was kneeling in front of a crowd and everyone was strumming his guitar and Bryan crept up behind him and with both his legs against Keith's back, inch by inch, he pushed him off of the stage into the crowd.
Bryan definitely got the party started when he told security to stop harassing two girls who were where they weren't suppose to be. Bryan said "hey, leave my girlfriend alone" LOL and then invited everyone to come down. Within minutes the floor area was packed! The set list was the same as Continental Arena in NJ except that we also got This Time, and he mixed up the order of the songs quite a bit. In NJ he ended with Run To You, and in Mohegan I believe it was It's Only Love. Boy, when He played Run To You an hour into the show I thought it was almost over, but thankfully he played another 30 minutes, very sneaky Bryan.....hehe :)))
The guitars once again were shown off on stage in front of Gary's piano........gosh, that sight reminds me soooo much of the MTV Unplugged when he had them lined up behind him.....ahh the memories! He only used the green Gretsch for Summer Of '69 and the honey-colored one for Hearts on Fire. Anyway, that got us to thinking.....how many guitars does Bryan own?
