		12/12/05 - WPLJ SHOW, CHINA CLUB, NEW YORK CITY, NY Review by Marilyn: Where do I start to explain this night!! We all worked so hard to win these tickets. From Jenny winning the first two, then Diane won, then I won and then Alicja won. We had tried for days and days and when we all won, I couldn't help but feel that there was something special happening, kind of like we were meant to be there! Cheesy and corny, I know, but I couldn't help but feel that way. Alicja got there at 1:00 in the afternoon, on a very cold day. Diane and her sister Doreen got there about 2:30. Not sure about Teresa and Margaret, but I got there about 4:15. Jenny and Babs and Sara were there when I got there,too. The crowd didn't really start getting there until about 5:00-5:30, but you know, baddies have to get there early to claim those front row spaces! How Alicja was still able to talk and not a frozen solid block I don't know because it was cold. At about 6:00 they let us in. The gig was being held in a club, the China Club. It was a fairly large room for a club, but a small room for a gig. All us baddies naturally made it right up front. And when I say up front, you better believe I mean it! The stage was very small and only about two feet off the ground. We were right at the stage. There was a small kind of rope partition about 2 feet from the edge of the stage and that's where we were. We could have reached out and touched Bryan we were so close. YOu actually had to look up to look at his face -- it was simply incredible. Me, Diane and Alicja were directly in front of Bryan and Margaret, Teresa, Jenny, Babs and Sara a little further over towards Keith's side. I had originally thought it was going to be just Bryan and his acoustic, which would have been alright with me, but was happy when I realized it was the whole band. Well...except poor Gary. Keith told us later that because the stage was so small, Gary wouldn't have fit! Keith said that he missed him very much. So after a nice warm up by one of the DJ's at PLJ, Race Taylor, who held up a guitar that Bryan signed that was being auctioned off for charity (way to go, Bryan!) The guys came out. We couldn't believe how close they were! OMG - Bryan was literally right in front of me, his guitar right in my face! They started off with Room Service, and right from the start Bryan acknowledged us all in the front row with smiles. They then went into Somebody and Bryan changed the words at one point -- he said, with a big smile "When the winners are losers, and I see some here tonight" and was pointing to us. Well that got a huge reaction from us!! He seemed genuinely happy to see all of us there, and of course, we were in heaven being there! They start into She's Only Happy When She's Dancing and all of a sudden, Bryan looks down at Diane and reaches out his hand and pulls her up onto the stage to dance while he's singing. We went nuts!!!! Diane -- you looked great up there! Bryan was smiling from ear to ear and Diane was dancing her heart out. So much fun! Unfortunately, because the stage was SO close, it was difficult to get pictures. Can you believe we were actually too close to take pictures?? We all got some,but I think Teresa's will be the best, naturally, as usual, because she was a little further away. At some point I took out my cellphone to call Ang so she could hear some of the songs because she couldn't make the show. Well Bryan sees me holding the phone and reaches down and takes it from me and sings into it for a few seconds! OMG!!! I yelled into the phone to Ang that Bryan was just singing to her, but I wasn't sure if she could understand me or not. Not sure of the order, and I may have forgotten some of the songs, but the setlist as best I can remember it is Room Service, Somebody, She's Only Happy When She's Dancing, Open Road, Back to You, Let's Make a Night to Remember, It's Only Love, The Only Thing That Looks Good....,Cuts Like a Knife, Heaven, Hearts on Fire (which Bryan completely changed the words to, we were laughing so hard because we couldn't figure out what words were going to come out of his mouth!), Run to You, This Time and, of course, WYG, but more on that later! I'm sure I missed a few, so someone please fill in my blanks. Very surprisingly, no SO69 or EID! Anyway, getting back to the show. Throughout the whole night, Bryan was playing his guitar right in front of us and coming over to where we were -- again RIGHT THERE! At one point, he comes over, directly in front of Alicja, and puts his guitar in front of her. Alicja strums the guitar and then Bryan pushes it closer to her and lets her know he wants her to lick it, which she absolutely does! Again, we went nuts screaming and laughing! OMG - could it get any better?? Yes, it does!!! (Above) Alicja gets Keith's guitar in her face! A little while later Keith, during It's Only Love, I think, brings his guitar during his solo again over to Alicja and sticks it in her face. Well once again, Alicja gives it a good lickin. Keith then leans down and, OMG I'm laughing as I'm typing this remembering this, he leans down, puts his hand on her head and licks the whole side of Alicja's face. I thought I was going to die laughing and Alicja looked so stunned, but a very happy stunned! It was absolutely priceless! (Above) Teresa onstage with Bryan for WYG The time comes to pick someone for WYG, and Bryan picks some girl who, as Jenny wrote, got up there and admitted she didn't know the words. So Bryan goes to pick someone else, and, YES....another baddie....he picks Teresa! We were all going nuts we were so excited! I'll let Teresa explain all that to you, but I'll just say that she was great!!! Teresa, you did NY proud!!!I think it's so incredible that Bryan has been picking baddies lately. Keep it up Bryan, it's very much appreciated! Well, the guys were also having a great time. Bryan was joking around with Norm alot and pointing out to the audience solos that he was doing and Keith was being his usual incredible self. Can't remember what song it was, but once again Bryan comes over to us, and this times stands right in front of me and pushes the guitar toward me. I strum it, give it a kiss and reach up and rub Bryan's stomach! Oh YES!!!!!The stage was so small, that the guys couldn't even stand together to take a bow. When they were done, Bryan stayed and signed autographs for awhile on the stage, and then gave me his pick. Then off he went. The audience was chanting 69, 69, 69 for awhile, until they realized they weren't coming back out. We just stood there a bit, trying to take in what an absolutely incredible night it was. I don't think anything could top tonight. From start to finish it was the most amazing night! We waited outside and got to see Bryan for a minute. He didn't have a warm jacket on, so after a few hellos and a few words he had to get into the car because it was freezing out there. Then we went around the corner and Keith came out after a little while. He took pictures with us, signed autographs and sang a little song for Diane's daughter. So, so sweet! Me, Diane, Doreen, Alicja, Teresa and Margaret then went out to dinner and just sat around talking about the night and how incredible it was! Jenny, Babs, Sara - it was so nice to see you again! What a night, eh? Diane, Doreen, Alicja, Margaret and Teresa -- well we shared another unforgettable night! I know we'll never forget this one! So glad I got to share with all of you. This has been one hell of a BA year!!! Bryan - if you read this, thank you just isn't enough! I hope you realize what an unforgettable night you gave us. We may never be the same! Thanks again for such a fantastic show and for being so special! Merry Christmas to you! We were all hoping you'd play Christmas Time, but, that's OK -- you made us all very happy anyway! (Above) Alicja, Marilyn, Margaret, Teresa, Diane ********** Review by Jenny: Oh What A Night It Was! After freezing for a few hours, we were let in and Babs and I got to the front by Keith! The whole band was there this evening except for Gary, which was a surprise for me as I thought it was only to be Bryan by himself. It was a fantastic evening, the crowd was very into it and Bryan had a lot of fun with the audience (especially other Baddies and I will let them fill you in on the particulars)! The first WYG girl was from NJ and didn't really know the song, but was happy just to get on and off the stage. Then he picked a Baddie for WYG and I'm sure she will want to post her review in her own words! So very happy for ya! Sara ended up getting in without having won and hung out by Babs and me. It was nice to hang out with you Sara! At the end of the show, people were handing things to BA to sign before he left the stage, and Babs got him to sign my book-very grateful for that one Babs! It took him awhile to figure out how to use my marker, he gave it back and asked someone to open it, but it was a clickable one and someone did click it open, but when he went to sign it, he had it upside down. It was quite comical and made my evening! Diane, I want to thank you for the beautiful ornament-I already hung it on my tree! And to the rest of the baddies-Marilyn, Alijca and Teresa (2 others I am not sure who they were)it was nice to see you again and I am looking forward to your reviews as you guys just really had an amazing time with Bryan and Keith! I must go and pass out now as I am exhausted!
